We now understand how a ballet class gives us determination, freedom of expression, flexibility and joy (to mention just a few positive attributes). We utilise this, gaining strength, good posture, developing timing, ballet technique, discipline - and have lots of fun doing it. We now know quite a few ballet moves and the french vernacular to accompany them. It's a great class for interacting with other children, building confidence and letting the imagination run wild.
A fun little class - An introduction to moving to music and the wonderful world of ballet. We start laying the strong foundations of dance and ballet including class etiquette and discipline. We improvise, play games, march, jump, sing and generally have a great time using our imaginations.
The roots of Imperial Classical Ballet stem from the early days of the ISTD and the first written syllabus in 1913 which was based on the teaching of the French School from the Paris Opéra. The syllabus has now evolved to promote the English classical style and address the changing needs of Ballet dancers today.
All Ballet Classes are catered towards the level of experience of pupils. We always strive for excellent technique and as always, joy in movement.
